Basic Steps for Dreamwalking

Introduction

Ever been in the middle of a really weird dream and think, 'wait a minute...I'm dreaming' and then poof, you wake up? Those few seconds of consciousness in your dream state is the beginning of lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming and psychic dreamwalking sound a lot alike, but they're actually different. In a lucid dream, you are aware of the fact you're dreaming, you can change your 'dream setting', for example, make yourself be in the Bahamas with a drink in your hand or even change what you look like in your dream. A Dream Walk is a little more complicated. A Dream Walk is where you send out a part of yourself with the intent on making contact with others through the medium of your dream. Anyone can learn to Dream Walk, all it takes is a good imagination and lots of practice.

Step 1

First, construct an image of yourself in your mind. I personally, make myself look really skinny. Anything goes in this very important step. Whatever you do, make sure that you can fully picture each and every detail of your face, your hair and whatever you are wearing. You may find it useful to imagine a full length mirror (I picture one of those oval standing ones) and in this mirror, you're studying your image until you look down and you ARE your image. This can change anytime you like, just be sure that you can remember every detail.

Step 2

Now that you have yourself ready, you need to construct your Dream Haven. This is your 'Little Temple of Dreams'. This is a place where you always start and/or stop your dream walk. In early stages of dream walking, I recommend keeping this place relatively small. Don't do a big outdoor field with pretty flowers. Try a smaller space, like the size of your bedroom, because you will need to be able to picture every item, every pattern, every smell of this Haven in detail.

Step 3

Next, you need a Dream Gate, or door. Your entry and exit from Dream Space inside your Haven. It can be anything from an old wooden door to a pasture gate depending on what your Haven looks like. Again, be sure whatever you pick is easy enough for you to picture clearly in your mind. When ready to embark on your adventure, you will walk to this door and open it. Sometimes you can picture the other side as misty and cloudy...adding more to the mysteriousness of the dream. Other times, you can picture the person you're wanting to dream walk to on the other side of the door.

It's best to pick someone that you're close to, like a relative or best friend, when first learning to dream walk. People that you have a deep emotional bond with are usually the easiest to connect to. Picture your energy as a stream of white light and picture the person you're wanting to connect to as having the same. Imagine when you find them in Dream Space, your two white streams of light connect to form one thread. When experimenting with a partner, tell them for instance, 'sometime this week, I'm going to try to dream walk to you.' By this time, you've both been keeping a Dream Journal (training your subconscious mind to hold on to that Dream State as long as possible) and both should take notes daily. If you feel you have successfully Dream Walked, call your partner and ask them to read their Journal entry for that day. See if they remember any details about where you two went. You may also invite your partner to your own private Haven to share the details of it with them.

It takes a lot of practice, and lots of patience, but the results are well worth it!
